Common Causes
of Hip Pain.

Hip pain rarely has just one cause. Understanding what's actually driving it is the first step toward fixing it, and that's exactly what we do at RPTP.

Talk to a PT
  • 01 Impaired Mechanics Stiffness in the joint or reduced muscle flexibility leads to limited range of motion, muscle weakness, and imbalance throughout the hip and surrounding structures.
  • 02 Injury A sudden impact or excessive load on the tissue from sport, training, or everyday activity, that overwhelms what the hip can handle in that moment.
  • 03 Chronic Compensations Old injuries or fear of reinjury create altered movement patterns. Over time, certain tissues get overloaded while others underperform, and pain follows.

Hip Pain Is
NOT Inevitable.

Tissues heal. Pain doesn't have to be permanent. And your imaging results don't tell the whole story of what you're capable of.

  • You shouldn't have to avoid squatting, running, or lifting just to manage pain
  • You shouldn't lose function and capacity as a normal part of getting older or training hard
  • Soreness after exercise is Chronic, limiting pain is not
  • A scan showing degeneration or a tear doesn't mean you're stuck with pain forever
Start Getting Better

A Comprehensive
Approach.

We don't give you generic exercises and send you home. We build a plan around your hip, your movement patterns, and your goals, and we work through it with you, step by step.

  • 🔓 Break the Pain Cycle Education, manual therapy, and tissue mobility work to reduce pain and restore confidence in movement.
  • ⚙️ Restore Joint & Nerve Mechanics Address how the hip joint, surrounding muscles, and nervous system are functioning during daily activities and exercise.
  • 💪 Build Real Strength Target the gluteal and hip rotator muscle groups for enhanced stability, the foundation of a pain-free, high-functioning hip.
  • 🛠️ Improve Tissue Mobility Hands-on techniques including soft tissue work, instrument-assisted mobilization, and targeted stretching to restore full range of motion.
  • 🚀 Return to Full Function Progressive loading, plyometric work, and functional training to get you back to exactly what you want to do, without fear or limitation.

"Return to your
desired activities
is achievable."

A note on imaging: MRI findings, X-ray results, and scan reports don't always tell the full story. Structural findings don't automatically equal pain, and pain doesn't always reflect structural damage.

Tissues heal. With the right education, mechanics work, and progressive loading, full return to your goals is possible.

That's not wishful thinking. It's what we do every day at RPTP.

Hip Pain.
